EuroUnicorns Are (almost) Ready
A pan-European girls baseball team is about to make history at SuperCup 2026
When the Slovakia Panthers — a girls baseball team assembled from Slovak players — competed at the SuperCup in Hluboká nad Vltavou in 2025, they planted a seed. A seed of something much bigger, that goes beyond a single country, beyond a single tournament: The potential that could redefine what girls’ baseball looks like in Central Europe.
Thanks to the organizers of Supercup, who gave the team under the helm of general manager Zuzana Zambojová their blessing, EuroUnicorns were born. And on May 29th, 2026, they arrive in Hluboká to prove that this seed has grown into something extraordinary.
⬥ November 2025
The Selection
The journey began at the “Baseball is for Girls Too” tournament in Bratislava in November 2025. Girls born in 2016 or later were evaluated with a specific goal in mind: assembling a pan-European team to represent the continent at the SuperCup the following spring.
The selection criteria were not purely athletic. The coaches were looking for character — for players who would embrace the challenge of representing not just themselves but an entire international community of girls who love this game.
They found them.
⬥ December 2025
First Steps Together
The first training camp took place in Bratislava in December 2025. For many of the girls, it was the first time they had met their new teammates. They trained together, played baseball, and most importantly, truly enjoyed every moment. New friends were made. The first team bonds were formed.
A coaching group took shape around head coaches Lukas from Schwechat Blue Bats and Mario from Trnava Angels, joined by always smiling Tomáš and Sofia from Bratislava Phoenix and Manuel from Vienna Panthers.
⬥ February 2026
Chemistry on the Field
February brought the team to Vienna for a full training camp. Players from Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, and Slovakia gathered for what coaches described as a challenging but incredibly rewarding weekend.
What struck everyone was how naturally the chemistry worked. Some of the girls were meeting for the very first time in their lives. Yet they played like a team — anticipating each other, covering ground, executing plays that took genuine coordination and trust.
By the end of the Vienna camp, EuroUnicorns were no longer just a selection. They were a unit.
Results were secondary. What mattered was the team’s cohesion under pressure, their ability to apply training in a live competitive environment, and their resilience across multiple games in a single day.
⬥ March 2026
First Competition
March took the team to the Czech Republic for the Euro Kids Tournament in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, co-organized by baseball team Camels Rožnov. For the first time, EuroUnicorns faced outside competition — three teams from Czech Republic and Austria across a full day of baseball.
They passed every test.
⬥ April 2026 · Mainz, Germany
Baseball Goddesses
On April 17th and 18th, EuroUnicorns traveled to Germany to compete in a SuperCup selection tournament hosted by Mainz Athletics. Players and parents arrived from four countries — some after journeys of up to ten hours. That alone said everything about commitment.
Every inning, every match was a little celebration for shiny Unicorns. For the first time ever they put on their new uniforms. And they deserve the honor of wearing them. The match against Future Stars — multiple SuperCup winners — became the talk of the tournament. EuroUnicorns hit accurately, threw precisely, played fast and with composure. They lost in overtime by a single point, 11:12. Spectators gathered from all over the venue to watch.

⬥ May 16–17, 2026
The Final Test
Before Hluboká, there will be one more stop. The “Baseball is for Girls Too” tournament in Bratislava on May 16th and 17th serves as both the team’s final preparatory competition and the moment when the definitive SuperCup roster is confirmed. The same event that identified these players in November now closes the loop — the dress rehearsal before the main stage.
⬥ May 29–31, 2026 · Hluboká nad Vltavou
The Main Stage
The SuperCup in Hluboká nad Vltavou is one of the finest youth baseball tournaments in Central Europe. For EuroUnicorns, it is the destination that everything — the camps, the tournaments, the thousands of kilometers traveled — has been building toward.
They will arrive as a team that has been tested at every stage and has not broken at any of them. The project will continue beyond Hluboká — next November, a new edition of “Baseball is for Girls Too” will open another selection process, and the EuroUnicorns story will grow another chapter.
